Things to do in Phuket
Phuket by day and Phuket by night are two very different places. Under the sunshine, you can browse the open-air markets and stalls in Phuket Town, unwind on a powdery beach, or go snorkelling in the sea. A visit to the Big Buddha is a must-do. At 45 metres tall, this giant statue can be seen from Phuket Town and Karon Beach on a clear day, and offers panoramic views of Phuket Island. If you want to explore a little further afield, you could go kayaking around the rocky outcrops of Phang Nga Bay, or take a day trip to the famous Phi Phi Islands.
When the sun goes down, Phuket turns into a party playground. Experience the exotic nightlife on Patong Beach, with its bars, clubs and beach parties, or head to Phuket FantaSea for Las Vegas-style shows and fireworks. Alternatively, for a romantic end to the day, head down to Promthep Cape – as the southernmost spot on Phuket, this place has fantastic sunsets.
Getting around Phuket
