Johannesburg enjoys a relatively dry, mild climate, with sunny days practically all year round. Between October and April the city experiences heavy afternoon thunderstorms with sudden, sharp downpours that evaporate off the city’s pavements as quickly as they arrive. Winter days (June-Aug) are only slightly cooler than summer with temperatures rarely dropping below 22 degrees Centigrade.
