Brisbane - Further Afield

From Brisbane you have a great base for exploring the surrounding area of Queensland, with its wide variety of stunning attractions.

First stop has to be the Gold Coast, an hour away from Brisbane by car. Check out the breathtaking skyline of the famous Surfers' Paradise, visit Seaworld, enjoy the Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary or explore the beautiful Coolangatta coastline.

Glass House Mountains National Park, an hour north of Brisbane, gives a picturesque drive and you can also hike and check out the views.

Fraser Island is a paradise of unspoiled lakes, dunes, forests and wildlife where you can camp or just visit for the day.

Buna Mountains National Park is three hours west of Brisbane and is filled with ancient bunya pine plus many other plants, birds and animals.

Tamborine Mountain, northwest of the Gold Coast and south of Brisbane, offers the opportunity to visit the Tamborine Mountain Distillery where visitors can taste spirits produced from local, organic fruit.

Visit Australia Zoo, home of the late Steve Irwin - Crocodile Hunter. Located on the Sunshine Coast, here you can view a collection of over one hundred different species including crocs, Asian elephants and tigers.
