Orlando - Getting Around

Shuttles operate between hotels and all major Orlando attractions - many of which are free and designed (naturally) to speed as many punters through their doors as possible!

Disneyland

Disney resorts operate the brisk and efficient WDW (Walt Disney World) unlimited free transportation system, seamlessly incorporating bus, monorail, ferry or water taxi to all WDW properties. So if you’re in a WDW property, that’s a big saving on transportation costs.

Mears Transportation

Mears Transportation: This company has the contract to provide shuttle services between all the major attractions including Kennedy Space Center, Universal Studios, SeaWorld, and Busch Gardens (yes, in Tampa), among others. Their service is the largest in the area and with good reason. Rates will vary based on where you are going and where you are coming from, of course, so call ahead for the particulars. Many of the area hotels use Mears for their shuttle service to the parks and attractions. If your hotel does not provide free shuttle service, make sure you compare the costs of taking shuttles to the cost of renting a car before deciding on your transportation; the car will often be the cheaper way to go.

I-Drive

For getting around I-Drive, it’s best to jump on the I-Drive Trolley. The trolley (or street car) makes 77 stops between the Prime Outlets on the north end of the drive and SeaWorld to the south. Running along the length of I-Drive every 20 minutes, from 8am to 10:30pm, it costs $1.25 for adults, 25¢ for seniors and is free to kids younger than 12. Exact change is required. There's an unlimited 1-day pass available for $4 per person.
