Airline Information - Lufthansa
‘Deutsche Lufthansa’ (usually shortened to Lufthansa) is the national flag carrier of Germany and is the largest airline in Europe in terms of passengers carried. Based primarily in Cologne, Germany, the airline serves 18 domestic destinations and 183 international destinations in 78 countries across Africa, Asia, Europe and the Americas. The carrier has a fleet of 722 aircraft, which includes both Boeing and Airbus planes, and the world famous Airbus A380.
Lufthansa has airport hubs in Frankfurt and Munich, with the majority of staff based at the primary traffic hub of Frankfurt Airport. The airline is a founding member of the Star Alliance.
