Heathrow Airport Information
London Heathrow Airport (LHR) is the UK’s biggest and London’s premier airport. It's 14 miles west of central London, located in Hillingdon and is made up of two runways, four terminal buildings and covers 12 square kilometres. The airport is one of only three that is designated as part of the Greater London area, and is the departure airport of choice for not only those situated in London, but also the whole central / southern area of England.

Transport
Heathrow is easily accessible from London, with the Heathrow Express running every 15 minutes from London Paddington Station; the journey takes approximately 15 minutes.

Smoking is banned inside all Heathrow terminal buildings; there are designated smoking areas outside all terminals but once passengers have passed through security there are no facilities for smoking anywhere in the terminal.

Showers are located past security in Terminal 4; some departure lounges also have their own shower facilities.

International flights passengers should check in at least three hours before departure.

Porters are available to help passengers with their luggage; to use this service ask one of the customer hosts when you arrive at the airport. This service is free to passengers with special needs, the elderly and those with children; otherwise the service costs £7.
