Popular Family Holiday Destinations - Orlando

Orlando is an unforgettable holiday destination – especially for children. A magical world of theme parks, Florida sunshine and childhood heroes, it’s unsurprising that it’s a hugely popular destination for adults and children alike.

Organising an Orlando holiday can seem like an overwhelming experience – as well as choosing the hotel, flights, car hire and insurance, there’s a choice of theme-park tickets, attractions which need to be booked before you go and over-excited children to calm! Here, take a look at some of our best-loved Orlando hotels – all of which are perfect for a family holiday to Orlando.

When it comes to choosing which attractions you plan on visiting, you should consider the age of your children, the length of your stay and the time of year into account. Whilst Orlando is a hugely exciting place, you should always plan in a few days of down-time; otherwise the kids will be exhausted after just a few days away. The main attractions within Orlando include DisneyWorld, Universal Studios®, SeaWorld and Wet’n’Wild – but there are also museums, evening shows and outdoor activities. It’s a good idea to sit down as a family before you leave and discuss what you’d most like to visit – creating a plan that everyone agrees to will make the trip much less stressful – and will ensure the kids get up in the mornings whilst you’re away!

Magic Kingdom Castle

DisneyWorld is a collection of six different theme parks, each of which has a different theme. Whilst there are a selection of rides, attractions and shows at each, some are more targeted to small children than others – so you may not want to visit all of the parks.

Universal Orlando® Resort

Two different theme parks (Universal's Islands of Adventure and Universal Studios®) and a boardwalk which connects the two. Each theme park is large, with dozens of rides and attractions – so make sure you leave enough time to explore each.

Orlando jumping dolphins

A great place to see marine life and animals close up, SeaWorld is a huge attraction for children. As well as large pools filled with dolphins, rays and rock-pool creatures, there are amazing shows involving killer whales and their trainers as well as seals, sea lions and other animals. There are also rides, simulators and play areas for kids of all ages.

An amazing water park within Orlando, Wet’n’Wild is a great place to spend a day. From large swimming pools with wave machines to lazy river rides, there’s something for everyone to enjoy here. A perfect place to cool down on a hot day, there are soft play areas for small children, as well as rides for the whole family to enjoy together.
