Auckland holidays

One of the first things you will notice about the city is the dominant Sky Tower, which at 328m is the southern hemisphere's tallest building.  Take in the panoramic views via the glass-fronted lift, or quite literally go a step further and experience the exhilaration of a bungee jump.

For something a little more refined, visit the Civic Theatre, the interior of which is a show unto itself.  Do try to catch a performance though, and prepare to be captivated by the twinkling sky set into the ceiling.  Continue in the cultural vein by exploring the Auckland Art Gallery, recently reopened after an expensive refurbishment, and home to works by artists including Picasso.

If you're lucky enough to be in town when the All Blacks are playing, catch one of rugby's greatest sides in action at Eden Park.  If you need to get away from the crowds, make for Albert Park and relax in the Victorian gardens.
