Vancouver travel guide

Downtown will prove handy to most of the city's tourist sites, while also boasting good proximity to the Canada Place cruise-ship terminal. Most of the hotels are mid to high end, and Granville Street plays host to many bars, restaurants and nightclubs.

Visit Vancouver

Yaletown is the trendier section of the downtown peninsula, with lots of chic places to shop and eat out. The West End is a pleasant part of town, with a more relaxed atmosphere than downtown. A mainly residential area, there are still numerous popular hotels to be found among the leafy surrounds of Stanley Park.

The West Side, including areas such as Kerrisdale, Shaughnessy and Granville Island, offer great proximity to Vancouver's beaches, in addition to a multitude of public parks and gardens. Being out of the action of town may be a positive or negative for you. If you do wish to be situated more remotely, head to the North Shore from where you can plan your hiking and skiing expeditions.
