Centara Villas, Koh Samui - Destination Info

A tropical climate with high humidity means an average temperature of 36°C. There are three seasons: dry, hot and the very wet monsoon season.

The Big Buddha Temple (Wat Phra Yai) on Samui's north coast is a ‘big’ attraction. A 12m high Buddha sits on a small islet connected to the big island by an unpaved causeway. Small pavilions house smaller Buddha images.

The Samui Butterfly Garden is located on the side of a hill at Laem Natien and has an enclosed tropical park with hundreds of butterflies, displays of insects and moths, as well as a few beehives. The hillside observatory and some observation platforms offer breathtaking views of the coast. Choose a glass-bottomed boat to see the beauties of the local coral reef.

The Tao and Nang Yuan Islands have a wide variety of coral formations, ideal diving and snorkeling territory. There’s a daily boat service to the islands.

Check out the oddly shaped rocks south of Lamai Beach. The legend goes that an old couple were shipwrecked here, died and when their bodies washed ashore created the rocks.

A tour on a giant, but gentle elephant can take you into the jungle, through rivers and past exciting sights. Trek to Samui's most famous waterfall, Namuang 1. Then, dismount and take a refreshing dip.

Kids will love seeing the living dinosaurs of the Koh Samui Crocodile Farm. Siamese and saltwater crocodiles, snakes, caimans and lizards are all part of the show.
