Holiday Inn, Phuket - Rooms

There are two separate wings to the resort. The Main Wing, best for families, has 265 airy rooms, all with private balconies. This wing is close to the beach, overlooking the pool.

Superior Rooms, like all the others, have the choice of one king-sized or two queen-sized beds, with a generous couch that converts into a day bed. The furnishings are in a clean-lined, modern Thai-style, and connecting doors are available on request. All rooms have a TV with satellite channels, and the bathrooms have large mirrors and adjustable shower-heads for the most invigorating flow.

Deluxe Pool View Rooms have great views of the pool from the balcony, as well as over-sized beds. You can lie back and watch a DVD on the plasma TV, with drinks from the complimentary mini-bar. The generously-proportioned bath with its folding mirrors is another place to relax.

Kids (and parents) will love the Family Suites, with one room for two adults with a king-sized bed, connecting to a pirate-themed room for two kids under 12. The latter room is full of fun touches like boat-shaped beds and treasure-chest furniture, plus a TV/Video, games console and a toy box full of surprises.

Kids’ Suites are designed as a ‘room within a room’, with a children’s area with bunk beds, TV/Video, games console, play desk and toy box. These rooms accommodate two adults and two kids under 12.

For real luxury, with a huge 120 square metres of space for two very lucky people, the Penthouse Suite awaits. It boasts a bedroom, separate lounge, and a large balcony. The bathroom has a Jacuzzi, and a separate shower. The lounge has a dining area, a work area, flat-screen TV, iPod with Bose sound system, DVD player and free internet access.

There’s a fully-stocked fridge, with daily refills, espresso machine, and a daily delivery of fresh fruit, flowers and newspapers. You’ll also get complimentary use of the steam-room and sauna at the Aspara Spa.

Stay for more than five nights and you’ll enjoy a welcome bar set-up for your arrival, complete with prestige brands to toast a great holiday stay at the Holiday Inn.

The Busakorn Wing, generally quieter and more adult, has 140 studio and villa rooms, in two buildings. Centred around two themed pools, this wing has its own entrance, reception and a resort centre handling things like tour and activity bookings.

The 104 Studio rooms offer a choice of either king-sized or twin beds. Ground floor rooms have an outside seating area with a landscaped pool view, whilst those on upper floors have their own balconies. You’ll enjoy a walk-in shower, separate WC, window-side sofa, fridge, and plenty of storage, including a laptop-sized safety box. Wired internet access, a TV/DVD with a choice of movies, will keep you entertained. Final luxurious details include your own bathrobe, slippers and a choice of pillows for a great night’s rest.

The 36 Villas are arranged around an inner courtyard with a central pool. The rooms are in modern Thai style, with teak floors, all very elegant. There’s a large sofa, writing desk and generous wardrobe space. The bathrooms have a separate WC, as well as a large walk-in shower with bench and rainforest shower. Handily, there’s a separate vanity and make-up space too.

This is very much a place for couples who’d like a little privacy and pampering. You’ll certainly be well entertained: large flat-screen TV, DVD, Bose sound system, preloaded iPods, Wi-Fi and wired internet access are all present and connected.

Villa guests also enjoy private check-in, a complimentary mini-bar (and refills), daily fruit and newspaper, not to mention luxury bathrobes and slippers.
