Shopping in Malaga is a wonderful blend of old and new. You'll find small family run shops selling haberdashery, cutting edge designer boutiques which wouldn't look out of place in Paris or New York, cheesy souvenir shops, international chains and shopping centres.
It's inevitable that Malaga is full of tourist shops selling the same sort of t shirts, ornaments and tacky fun that you'd find in any other tourist hotspot, but there are plenty of quirky stalls at the weekend markets offering more traditional and less expensive trinkets, including ceramics and leather goods.
El Corte Ingles is Spain's famous department store and home to floor upon floor of perfume, cosmetics, jewellery, clothing, shoes, accessories and much more. If you're looking to splash some serious cash, head to the pedestrianised and very swanky Marqués de Larios, Malaga's premier shopping street. If you're not feeling too flush, it's a great place to window shop!
