Tenerife Travel Guide:

Shopping in Tenerife

Tenerife is partly tax free, so items such as tobacco, spirits, perfumes and electrical goods are somewhat cheaper than in other EU countries. There's a high concentration of shops selling such things along the streets of Villalba Hervás, El Castillo, Bethencourt Alfonso and San José.

In Santa Cruz and La Laguna, you'll find some fantastic boutiques and shops. To the north, in Puerto de la Cruz, the main shopping areas are Plaza del Charco, La Hoya, Avenida Generalisimo and Calle de San Felipe.

There are traditional art and craft stalls everywhere on the island, offering wonderful pottery, handicrafts, embroidery, ceramics, wood carvings and more. At the Palace of Pearls in the south, thousands of square feet are devoted to jewellery made from pearls - it's a fabulous place to pick up a genuine and authentic gift for someone special. Wine enthusiasts will delight in Casa del Vino at El Sauzal, a stunning country house in the north of the island where you can taste and buy some top quality wines.
