But what shows should you put on the top of your list? Here are our five must see shows in Las Vegas, which you may, or may not have, heard of.
- Evil Dead the Musical
When you hear of movies being turned into musicals, Evil Dead isn’t what you’d consider a top candidate. However this surprise hit is the musical you didn’t know you’d been waiting for. Located at the V Theater at Planet Hollywood, this is an interactive 4D musical experience like no other, filled with catchy and hysterical songs, gallons of blood and amazing special effects; bringing this cult classic to life. With the first three rows receiving complimentary t-shirts, prepare yourself to be truly immersed in theatre. The show is on from Tuesday to Saturday, showing at 10pm most days, aside from Saturday when it starts at 11:30pm, running for 75 minutes. You can get tickets from $45, if you shop around online.
Las Vegas is renowned for being a place where the unusual becomes the norm, and for something that’s completely one of a kind, look no further than Absinthe. A unique blend of cabaret, circus and risqué vaudeville you’ll be fascinated by the blend of zany hosts, raunchy humour, amazing burlesque shows, and jaw-dropping chair and high wire stunts. Located at the Spiegeltent at Caesar’s Palace, this has become one of the most popular shows on the strip in recent years, described as Cirque du Soleil channelled through the Rocky Horror Show, by the New York Times. Running for 75 minutes, the show is on from Wednesday to Sunday every week, with tickets starting at around $100.
- Britney: Piece of Me
Sin City has played home to many legends throughout its lifetime; Elvis, Cher, Celine Dion and Elton John have all packed out venues, and now Britney Spears can add herself to that list. Taking to the stage at Planet Hollywood, this pop extravaganza is filled with water, fire, confetti snow and rainfall, alongside an entourage of backing dancers and theatrical sets. With hits like ‘Work Bitch’, ‘Womanizer’ and ‘Baby One More Time’ on the set list, prepare to be thrown into a Britney induced mania as you dance the night away. The show runs for approximately 2 hours, with tickets available from the $65 mark – depending on the show’s leg, the performance days could differ, so it’s best to check online beforehand.
- The Beatles: Love
Now here’s a combination we bet you thought you’d never of imagined; Cirque du Soleil meets The Beatles. Experience a fascinating musical journey through the Fab Four’s history, which you’ll be taken on by fictitious characters The Fool, Doctor Robert and Sgt Pepper. Watch in awe as the cast perform extravagant scenes of choreography, complete with outlandish costumes, alongside original recordings of The Beatles back catalogue. Another amazing element is the 360˚ seating and HD video projections, which help the show leap off the stage – more than it does already. Taking place in the custom built LOVE theatre at The Mirage from Thursday to Monday; spectators can watch the show at one of two daily showings, at 7pm or 9:30pm lasting for 90 minutes. - Terry Fator: The Voice of Entertainment
If it’s variety you want, then look no further than Terry Fator’s amazingly diverse show at The Mirage. Located in the Terry Fator Theatre, this ‘America’s Got Talent’ winner brings an eclectic mix of song, comedy and celebrity impersonation, which includes the likes of Lady Gaga and Elvis, alongside a colourful crew of fun loving puppets – providing you with one of the best and most entertaining shows around town. You can catch this show at 7:30pm Monday to Thursday, running for an estimated 80 minutes; tickets can be obtained from $68 and up.
