Most crowded holiday spots in the world

Are you planning your next holiday? What’s your flavour? If you’re one of those people who likes the crowds and the unabashed fun people can have in large groups, then this list is for you. If you’re looking for something more low-key and want to get away from it all, this list is for you too. You’ll know where to not plan your next holiday!

Venice Beach, California
Ah yes, the sand, sun and surf beckon you. You’re so ready to shed that heavy coat of oppression that is your life and have some unbridled fun. Well you’ve picked the right place if crowds don’t bother you. Venice Beach is so crowded that it’s hard to tell the pavements even exist under all those passing feet.  It is a place alive with activity where you can pump iron at the Muscle Beach Gym while simultaneously working on that perfect tan. Or you can take your skateboard to the Venice Skatepark to show off your signature moves. If strolling among crowds along the beach is more your thing, then head to the Venice Beach Boardwalk.

Cairo, Egypt
All those photos of the pyramids in Cairo look so beautiful as they stand there in the lonely desert, don’t they? You see yourself riding a camel through barren desert to see the Sphinx and Giza pyramids. You arrive in Cairo and the vacation you envisioned is nothing like the brochure in your mind. Vehicle traffic is congested and driving rules are optional. People crowd the pavements and sometimes the vehicles do too. With a population of 15.2 million people (a conservative estimate) in a roughly 140 square mile area, it’s a wonder Cairo can sustain tourists that flock here in the millions each year. If you start to feel claustrophobic, take a spin on a camel to the Giza pyramids at night for the spectacular Pyramids Sound and Light Show. That ought to perk you up a bit.

Magic Kingdom, Walt Disney World Resort, Florida
As far as theme parks go, Magic Kingdom takes the cake for busiest world-wide. Annually, almost 17 million people visit it each year. That averages out to approximately 46,500 a day. Let that just sink in for a moment. Imagine all the jostling and bumping into people while making your way through the park. Don’t even think about the long lines waiting to get on a ride. If it’s a “slow” day, you might wait 45 minutes before you finally get your turn. If you go early, you may get lucky and catch a few rides before the stampedes begin. With rides like Space Mountain, entertainment like the Country Bear Jamboree, and of course, the magical Cinderella Castle, you will be your kids’ new hero. Just bring lots of aspirin and sensible shoes because you’ll need them both.

Buenos Aires, Argentina
Put on your Latin lover attitude and get ready to tango. You may need to know some slick dance moves to get through this densely populated city. Buenos Aires is a hot destination for young lovers and anyone who likes to party in the streets, or just likes to party. There’s some beautiful architecture too, but getting around to see it all will require certain aversion skills as you weave and dodge around both traffic and people. This is a city that rarely takes a break from being in party mode. The outdoor markets are quite a maze to maneuver as people jockey for position at their favorite stands. This place will keep you on your toes. Just be sure no one steps on them too.
