With miles of sandy beaches and well-equipped hotels, Phuket is one of the most family-friendly holiday destinations in Thailand. Whether your nearest and dearest want to zip line through the forest, visit a nature reserve, or go wild at a theme park, the island is packed with activities to suit all ages. Check out our top picks to guarantee fun for all the family.

Phuket Trickeye Museum

You won’t believe your eyes at this interactive museum featuring an exhibition of over a hundred 3D paintings and art pieces. The artists use trompe-l’oeil techniques (‘deceive the eye’ in French) to allow visitors to step right into the action. Hang from a helicopter, run with Spanish bulls, jump into classic masterpieces and enter a world of illusion for a fun-filled afternoon crammed with amazing photo opportunities.

Kamala Beach

On the west coast of Phuket awaits a tranquil, sandy bay with a great selection of beachfront eating venues and child-friendly attractions including windsurfing, banana boats and fishing trips. The Phuket FantaSea theme park is also located at the beach, crammed with 140-acres of carnivals, live performances and a grand buffet.

Splash Jungle Water Park

When you’ve had your fill of the calm clear waters of the Andaman Sea, this wild water park offers adrenaline-fuelled rides and slides, kids play pools and a wave pool. If you’d rather take it easy, simply float along the 335 metre Lazy River and see the park at a more leisurely pace. When you’re all splashed out, dry off and grab a burger at the on-site café or see what’s on the menu at the Jungle Deli restaurant. If you’re not ready to leave the water, wade up to the Splash Bar for a cocktail, mocktail or fruit juice.

Flying Hanuman

Fly through the treetops in the dense rainforest west of Phuket Town. The eco-adventure park is suitable for thrill-seekers over the age of 4 with packages to suit all budgets. Each group is guided by trained professionals who are there to ensure your safety as you make your way through 80,000 square meters of forest on zip lines, sky bridges and spiral staircases. Top off an exhilarating day with lunch at the park’s restaurant with the option to include a meal in your package.

Siam Safari

Siam Safari is southern Thailand’s only Royal Thai Government Certified Elephant Camp, offering visitors the opportunity to get up close and personal with rural life and nature. Visitors have the option to choose from a selection of tours ranging from a half hour elephant trek to three hour 4-in-1 safaris featuring elephant interaction, water buffalo and learning about local produce. The tour finishes with a tasty buffet dinner looking out over the hills of Phuket.
