Québec Events - What's On When?
Going on a Québec holiday may open up a whole host of shopping, dining, historic and nature activities to enjoy.
Throughout the year there is so much going on including events and festivals like the International Jazz Festival and the Just for Laughs Comedy Festival; which light up the city’s streets with free performances.
It doesn’t matter what time of year you travel here, there’s always something to do. Below is just a little taster.
January - Québec Winter Carnival with Loto
For over 50 years, the biggest winter carnival in the world has been celebrating the joys and magic of winter. Experience the thrills and emotions with your family by taking part in a variety of winter activities.
February - Igloofest
A winter must-do for electronic music fans, the event has forged an enviable reputation with its striking visual and architectural concept, an ambitious line-up, its igloo village and its famous "one piece" contest. One of the trendiest events in the land!
March - Red Bull Crashed Ice
Red Bull Crashed Ice combines elements from ski cross and ice hockey. The athletes have to face high vertical drops and various tricky obstacles on a Crashed Ice track.
May - Bromont Chocolate Festival
“Nine out of ten people love chocolate, and the tenth person is lying”. - John Tullius. The perfect festival for food lovers and gourmets alike.
May/June - Montréal Bike Fest
For seven days, from the Metropolitan Challenge, the Tour la Nuit to the Famous, Tour de l’Île de Montréal, the bicycle will be celebrated in Montréal.
June - Canadian Grand Prix
The demanding Gilles-Villeneuve Circuit RETURNS as one of the most popular circuits with F1 drivers and is part of the important stages of the Formula 1 World Championship.
June/October - International Gardens Festival
The International Garden Festival features innovative contemporary gardens created by architects, landscape architects and artists from around the world.
July - Québec City Summer Festival
For 11 days the city is transformed into a giant outdoor stage where hundreds of performers show off their talents at some 10 venues in and around Old Québec City.
August - Gatineau Hot Air Balloon Festival
The Gatineau Hot Air Balloon Festival has been one of the most popular events in Eastern Canada since 1988, with 80 hot air balloons, 250 shows, 1,250 RV's and 200,000 visitors!
September/October - The Magic of Lanterns at the Montréal Botanical Garden
A Montréal Botanical Garden tradition worth a go even if you've seen prior editions: new lanterns are designed here, then produced in Montréal's sister city, Shanghai using traditional methods.
