Washington - Airport Guide

Washington D.C is served by three major airports including Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport and Baltimore-Washington International Thurgood Marshall Airport, but its DC's Washington Dulles International Airport (IAD) where most international flights arrive and depart. Located 26 miles from downtown DC, Dulles' main terminal is a well known landmark, a striking piece of architecture to welcome you to this beautiful city.

Washington Flyer Taxis are available from the lower level of the Main Terminal. Follow the signs for Ground Transportation or Taxi to find a taxicab dispatcher on duty 24 hours a day. A journey to downtown Washington DC takes around 40-60 minutes and costs approx $60-$80.

The same company also run a coach service, Washington Flyer Coach, which costs $10 one-way, $18 return. Running every half hour, the coach takes 25 minutes to its terminal in West Falls Church Metro, west of DC, where you can catch the Metro to downtown.

Alternatively, Metrobus can be found at Curb 2E outside of the terminal and costs $6 one-way. The bus operates between Dulles airport and L'Enfant Plaza, a few blocks south of the DC's famous National Mall. Departing every 40 minutes on weekdays and hourly on weekends the bus also stops at the Rosslyn Metro station in Arlington and has a journey time of around 60 minutes.

Supershuttle operates from 1E-1D and tickets can be bought at the 1G entrance. This shared ride service will take you anywhere downtown. The fare is $29 for the first passenger, and a further $10 for anyone else in your party.
