easyJet booking conditions

FARES ARE NON-REFUNDABLE. As such, we strongly advise that you hold travel insurance in order to cover you and your party against the cost of cancellation, assistance (including repatriation) in the event of accident or illness; loss of baggage and money; and other expenses.

Check-in

To check-in online for EasyJet flights, you will need to add ID information for all passengers. This can be completed in advance by accessing your booking in the MANAGE YOUR BOOKING section of their website. Once checked in, easyJet cannot change your seat allocation except for operational reasons.

Due to changes in UK security, we recommend arriving at the airport at least 2 hours before your scheduled departure time to ensure you have sufficient time to get to your boarding gate.

If you are bringing hold luggage, drop it off at the designated desk before going to security Proceed to your departure gate. The boarding gate closes 30 minutes prior to the scheduled time of departure. For some airports (currently, Morocco and Egypt, though this is subject to change) the boarding gate closes 45 minutes before departure.

LONDON GATWICK – If your flight leaves Gatwick before 08.30 you can check in for this flight the night before from 20:00. This will allow you to leave your baggage at the airport. You will be issued with a boarding pass so you can go straight to security for your flight the following morning. ALL easyJet flights depart from the North Terminal.

Baggage allowance

You can take one piece of hand baggage into the cabin, 56x45x25cm including handles and wheels. Cabin space is limited and on many flights, there isn't enough room for everyone's cabin bag on board. If the overhead lockers are full easyJet will put your bag in the aircraft hold for free. There is NO WEIGHT LIMIT, but you have to be able to lift the case yourself into an overhead locker. Handbags, briefcases, laptops and laptop bags are all counted as one piece, you might want to consider putting one inside the other. An overcoat, shawl, umbrella, crutches or walking frame/stick and one standardised bag of goods purchased at the departure airport may also be carried in addition to the one item allowance.

For a fee, you can put one bag in the hold that weighs up to 23kgs. The fee can be paid in one of two ways - online at easyjet.com in the ‘Manage Bookings’ section, or at the bag drop desk at the airport when you arrive for your flight (it will cost more at the airport). If your bag weighs more than 23kg you will be charged an excess baggage fee. No single piece of hold baggage can weigh more than 32kg due to health and safety restrictions, and no passenger can check in more than 50kg of luggage or 8 individual items.

An additional non-refundable fee is charged per flight for the carriage of bicycles, golf equipment, skis, surfboards, windsurfers, kite surfers, hang gliders, and firearms.

Adults/children can bring ONE item of Sports Equipment per passenger.

Golf Equipment (including golf shoes)/Skis/Snowboards are classified as Small Sports Equipment and is subject to a maximum weight of 20kg. Ski boots can be carried as a part of sports equipment, either with skis/snowboard or without. If ski boots are being carried without skis they can be accepted within your Hold Baggage allowance or as a Sports Equipment item

Canoes/Bicycles are classified as Large Sports Equipment and are subject to a maximum weight of 32kg. Bicycles must be packaged in a bicycle box or bag. Only one bicycle per box/bag is permitted. No other items can be carried in the bicycle box/bag (i.e. clothing). The handlebars must be flush with the frame. Pedals must be removed or flush against the frame. Bicycles with hydraulic suspensions or brake systems will be accepted. Due to restrictions, battery-powered bicycles (e.g. eBikes/electric bicycles) cannot be accepted.

Windsurfers/Hang Gliders are classified as Large Sports Equipment and are subject to a maximum weight of 32kg. You can add a total of 6 Larger Sporting items per booking.

Firearms and ammunition for hunting and sporting purposes may be accepted as Checked Baggage. A maximum of 5kgs of ammunition (UN0012 or UN0014) may be carried in Checked Baggage with appropriate paperwork, subject to available space, if declared at check-in and must be unloaded with the safety catch on and securely boxed or packaged. Only one gun per piece of Checked Baggage will be accepted for carriage. Please note ammunition must be packed as part of the Passenger’s Checked Baggage and may be packed with firearms, providing it is securely boxed. Passengers travelling with firearms must go to the Bag Drop Desk at least 90 minutes prior to the scheduled time of departure. The carriage of firearms is strictly limited. Passengers must produce the original of the valid documentation showing proof of ownership and legal authority for the possession of the firearm(s), photocopies of such documentation will not be accepted. Without such documentation, firearms WILL NOT be carried. Please note that baggage fees will not be refunded once paid, even where you subsequently do not carry excess baggage, additional baggage, sporting equipment or musical instruments on your Flight. Infants who share your seat do not have a baggage allowance.

Please inform easyJet of any specific needs or access requirements by adding this to your booking no later than 48 hours before the scheduled departure of the flight. Passengers with specific requirements should check in no later than 90 minutes before the scheduled departure time.
