The cheapest time to travel to Bali is March, April, May, June and October, with the prices rising in July and August as they are the busiest periods. This is mainly due to them falling within the summer holidays with the price of flights to Bali from UK increasing around Christmas and New Year too. Ngurah Rai International Airport, also known as Denpasar International Airport is the main airport that serves return flights to Bali. Denpasar Airport is located in south Bali and is just 8 miles from the centre of Denpasar and 1.5 miles from Kuta.

Denpasar Airport in Bali has two terminals, Domestic and International. The airport uses buses to help transport passengers, taking them between terminals and dropping them at the aircrafts as there are no aerobridges in use. The airport showcases traditional Balinese décor and a number of facilities.

Getting to the city from the Depensar Airport

Bali’s Airport is located 8 miles south of the city of Depensar and there is a taxi rank just outside of the arrivals hall that offers transport to a number of different destinations and resorts within Bali. From the airport, you can also rent a car. AVIS, Budget, Europcar, Hertz and SiXT all operate from Depensar Airport.

Don't forget before you fly

If you fly from the UK to Bali for tourism purposes, you will receive a free visa stamp on arrival. This allows entry for up to 30 days but cannot be extended. For a period of stay that exceeds 30 days you will need to obtain a visa on arrival, this costs $35.
