We’ll do that by giving you bikes, and the gen on hidden gems (people, not just places). But, you’ll find it in our hotel too. Locals designed, built, and furnished SALT. Locals manage and run SALT. They also make the food and the music. 

We’re right on the beach. We fit the Mauritius bill. But, our 59-room hotel does things differently. Local farmers and fishermen supply our restaurant. There’s a salt room in the spa. There are no fixed TV screens, or single-use plastics. Just everything you need. Or didn’t know you did.

Each of our rooms is kitted out with only the finest of things. A handmade, king size Carpe Diem bed, developed with physios, so you get the best sleeps. 100% Egyptian cotton bedding with a skin-soft sateen finish. Sea views. A private balcony.

We go local for ingredients and big on flavour. Quite simply, we love food. Sharing it, exploring it, and learning how to prepare it – we make it all possible here. Food is a huge part of Mauritian culture. It says it all about this island’s story. It’s African. It’s Indian. It’s Chinese. It’s French. Good food makes people happy – and that’s the point of SALT of Palmar.

Our rooftop bar overlooking the ocean is the perfect, relaxed aperitivo spot. There’s a dreamy selection of cocktails crafted by our bartenders who were inspired by the mountains of the island.

The Beach
Facing the ocean on a wooden deck or barefoot on the white sands of Palmar beach, taste our freshly prepared Mauritian snacks and cocktails made from seasonal fruits and fresh herbs.
