In terms of where to stay, Center City is the area where most hotels are to be found, and offers a
convenient location for exploring Philadelphia’s museums and downtown area; in addition to historic
sites such as the Independence National Historical Park.
The park itself is to be found in the Old City and Society Hill neighbourhoods, which are both
excellent areas to stay in thanks to their proximity to “America’s most historic square mile”. Both
areas tend to be on the pricier side, so have a good hunt around for a bargain if you’re tempted by
the shopping and nightlife of Old City, or the quieter allure of Society Hill.
Should you be jetting in to catch the Philadelphia Eagles playing at the Lincoln Financial Field, you
may wish to check out hotels in the vicinity of the airport, which is just a 10 minute drive to the
stadium. If you're thinking about celebrating Independence Day in the city, or are looking to be there
around the beginning of July, be sure to book as early in advance as possible, as it’s a huge
celebration and accommodation goes fast.
