Guide to Orlando nightlife

By May 12, 2013November 6th, 2018No Comments

Donald duck, and Disney World, are not the only attractions in town when the sun goes down in Orlando. A city like Orlando, that draws in varied tourists from the United States and the world over, needs a thriving night life and Orlando has just that. Options for heading out to wet one’s whistle include heading to bars, clubs, sports bars, and hotel bars.

Nightlife - Orlando

The fun is just starting when the lights go out a few places to check out include:

Kings Bowl Orlando

An interesting night out in Orlando is to mix twelve pin bowling with a night of drinking at Kings Bowl Orlando. Decked out with retro furnishings, comfy and spacey seating and beer taps right at the lane tables Kings Bowl is not your average alley. Don’t expect to be bowling any perfect games as the drinks mount. One criticism of King Bowl is that it is a little pricey for drinks and food.

Eye Spy

Fancy a dive bar with dance floor allure, for its bizarre mixture of characters dancing their asses off to music you haven’t heard for awhile, then check out Eye Spy. Music gestates between 80’s, 90’s, 2000’s and today’s hits. An oddity is that there are cameras around the club that are attached to TV’s all over so you can see yourself and the collection of characters dancing from all over the bar.  Come to Eye Spy and don’t worry about getting judged for your dancing, or anything else for that matter. Enjoy the fairly priced drinks too.

Red Light Red Light

If you’re a connoisseur of beer a trip to Red Light Red Light has to be on your itinerary as you paint Orlando red. With over 20 beers on tap and an extensive bottle list no bar in the city earns the patronage as lovingly to beer lovers as Red Light Red Light. The bar is extremely spacious and comfortable with a relaxed always welcoming vibe.  If there is one small complaint to volley on RL, it’s that the noise around the bar can make it a little difficult to hear members of your group.

The Harp and Celt

An authentic Irish bar down town Orlando that went as far, in attention to detail, to take wood from another Irish bar, Mulvaney’s Irish Pub,  that dates back to the 1920’s. For laid back pints, conversation and a refreshing change from the chaos of down town Orlando The Harp and Celt is a good bet. Actually two separate places the Harp is the pub and the Celt is a white cloth restaurant that serves some lovely, if slightly pricey, meals. The food however is great and they do lunch as well.
