Edinburgh Airport (EDI) is located just outside Edinburgh City Centre at Turnhouse, around 6 miles west of the city’s main attractions. It’s Scotland’s busiest airport; flying to both domestic and worldwide locations; from Europe to transatlantic destinations. It has recently completed redevelopment to the departure and security areas, and with projected annual passenger figures of 26 million by 2030, there are plans for further expansion.

Edinburgh Airport has two runways to handle the more than 100,000 flights which pass through each year. The airport is arranged over two floors; with the arrival lounge and check in on the ground floor, and security and the newly renovated departure lounge on the first floor. The airport hosts over 30 airlines, which carry around eight million people to their destinations each year. Edinburgh Airport has excellent transport links to the nearby city and the surrounding area.

Facilities
Edinburgh Airport has a single passenger terminal which includes check-in, security, the departure lounge, all aircraft gates and the arrivals area. The departure lounge has a selection of essential and luxury shops and services; from restaurants and bars to duty-free shopping.
The airport has provisions in place for disabled passengers, from wheelchair usage to low level information monitors. All restaurants in the airport welcome children, whilst unisex toilets are provided for the ease of parents travelling with little ones.
Edinburgh Airport does not host a designated onsite hotel, but there are a variety of places to stay in the nearby area. These include the Edinburgh Airport Quality Hotel, the Edinburgh Marriott Hotel and the Hilton Airport Edinburgh.
Transport
There are a range of transport options available from Edinburgh Airport, connecting it to the city centre, the local area and further afield in Scotland. Well connected by road, the airport lies on the A8 Glasgow – Edinburgh route, and can be easily accessed from Stirling (via the M9) and Perth (via the M90). There are a variety of parking options at the airport.
Lothian buses run an express bus service (Airlink 100) from the airport to the Edinburgh City Centre, which runs approximately four times an hour and stops at Edinburgh Waverley train station. Local buses are also available to the city centre as well as to further destinations such as Inverkeithing and Ferrytoll Park and Ride, Fife. There is no direct rail link to Edinburgh Airport, but passengers who alight at Edinburgh Haymarket rail station can join the Airlink 100 service from outside the station.
