Facilities

Edinburgh Airport has a single passenger terminal which includes check-in, security, the departure lounge, all aircraft gates and the arrivals area. The departure lounge has a selection of essential and luxury shops and services; from restaurants and bars to duty-free shopping.

The airport has provisions in place for disabled passengers, from wheelchair usage to low level information monitors. All restaurants in the airport welcome children, whilst unisex toilets are provided for the ease of parents travelling with little ones.

Edinburgh Airport does not host a designated onsite hotel, but there are a variety of places to stay in the nearby area. These include the Edinburgh Airport Quality Hotel, the Edinburgh Marriott Hotel and the Hilton Airport Edinburgh.

Transport

There are a range of transport options available from Edinburgh Airport, connecting it to the city centre, the local area and further afield in Scotland. Well connected by road, the airport lies on the A8 Glasgow – Edinburgh route, and can be easily accessed from Stirling (via the M9) and Perth (via the M90). There are a variety of parking options at the airport.

Lothian buses run an express bus service (Airlink 100) from the airport to the Edinburgh City Centre, which runs approximately four times an hour and stops at Edinburgh Waverley train station. Local buses are also available to the city centre as well as to further destinations such as Inverkeithing and Ferrytoll Park and Ride, Fife. There is no direct rail link to Edinburgh Airport, but passengers who alight at Edinburgh Haymarket rail station can join the Airlink 100 service from outside the station.

Other Information

  • Remember, if you’re travelling with a laptop computer, it will need to be turned off and removed from your hand baggage when you pass through Security.

  • For domestic flights, some airlines accept a photographic driving licence instead of a passport. Check with your airline before travelling.
