Manchester Airport Information

Manchester Airport (MAN) is the UK’s busiest airport outside of the London area, and has two runways, three terminals and is one of only 17 airports in the world with the ability to handle the huge passenger jet, the Airbus A380. It’s easily accessible from all directions, with its own railway station, good road links, bus services as well as a Metrolink tram service in the pipeline.

  • While all three airport terminals are non-smoking, each has a dedicated outdoor smoking area / terrace once passengers have passed through security.

  • Showers are located past security in Terminal 4; some departure lounges also have their own shower facilities.

  • Manchester Airport now utilises full body scanners in security; all passengers must pass through these, or will not be allowed to fly.

  • Syringes that are needed for diabetics and other medical reasons will only be allowed in hand luggage if you can prove the medical necessity. You may wish to phone the airline in advance to find out what they require as proof of your medical condition.
