Las Vegas - Airport Guide
Las Vegas McCarran Airport is situated just a mile or so from Las Vegas strip, making transfer times a breeze. There are currently two terminals, with a third slated to open in 2011. Both have taxis departing from outside the baggage claim area - a journey into Las Vegas should set you back around $12-$18, and to Downtown around $25. Fares are around $2 per mile - with a set-off fee of around $3.50. There are a number of excellent shuttle companies operating from McCarran International Airport to the The Strip, downtown Las Vegas and the resort hotels scattered throughout Las Vegas suburbs. Round trip fares are slightly less than double the one-way fare - expect to pay around $8 for The Strip and $12 for Downtown. You’ll find the shuttles leaving every half hour or so from the Departure car parks in each terminal. Public bus routes run to the airport and back again. Routes 108 and 109 serve the airport and run to central Las Vegas and The Strip. Tickets cost $5 one way.

Car Hire
There are plenty of car hire companies lined up and ready for your business in the airport. It’s worth considering a car, should you wish to strike out and explore the Nevada desert during your visit. If you plan to stay within Las Vegas it’s honestly not worth it - the city is easy enough to navigate and The Strip is well served with transport options.
