Summer Holidays - Adventure Breaks
For many people, the summer is a perfect time to explore a destination that they’ve never visited before. Whilst some may choose a quiet beach in an exotic location, others believe that their annual leave is the perfect time to get stuck into an adventure holiday completely unlike anything they can experience at home!
Adventure holidays are becoming popular with travellers of all ages. Some people want to come home with amazing videos of their bungee jump or skydive, whilst others aim to get up-close to some of the world’s most endangered animals. Choosing to visit a destination which offers a fair share of thrills can be great fun – but that doesn’t mean you need to be ‘on the go’ every day of your holiday – you can always alternate high-octane days with time at the beach or just chilling with the locals!
If you want to test your head for heights, or fancy trying out some of the latest water sports, the Southern Hemisphere is where you should head! Australia is known for surf, sea and sand – and if you want to learn your way around a ‘board, Oz will definitely appeal to you. New Zealand also offers its fair share of active outdoor activities, from jet boat riding to visiting hot springs.
North America has a whole range of different adventure itineraries to choose from. How about scuba diving or swimming with Manatees in Orlando? Or white water rafting through the Grand Canyon? The USA offers a range of dare-devil activities, so you could even plan a holiday that takes you from one thrilling destination to the next!
If you haven’t booked your holiday for summer 2012 yet, why not consider a last minute adventure holiday? Mixing crazy outdoor activities with exploring somewhere new really could make the holiday of a lifetime.
