February half-term is another possibility, as is the traditional Easter holiday. In 2016, Easter starts on the 3rd April, so you could have a good break through until the second or even third week of April. Of course, if you are the kind of person who is not bound by school holidays and can do things at the drop of a hat, a last minute deal might be the way to go for a cheap holiday in 2016. Make sure you keep an eye on the netflights.com late offers page which will keep popping up as we secure them, always a great way to get excellent value for your 2016 holidays.
When the traditional June, July and August holiday season kicks in, don’t think that means you have to pay top-dollar for your 2015 summer holiday. At that time of year, there’s good reason to not follow the hordes to the most popular destinations. Have a look at places that aren’t in their ‘high’ season, but still offer good weather (compared to home!) and plenty to see and do. Places like Barbados could be just perfect to enjoy in June. Safaris in the Maasai Mara National Reserve, Kenya in July are another option, and when August rolls around, why not take a look at Koh Samui beaches or other areas of Thailand? If it’s winter sun holidays you’re interested in, the bargains are also out there. Check out destinations like Tenerife, Egypt’s Red Sea, exotic Mauritius or the magnificent Dubai, where the sun-drenched days more than make up for our bleak winters.
They say it’s a small world, but there are always new places coming onto the holiday map. It’s always satisfying to find the holiday destination that the crowds haven’t discovered yet. Quite often, that’s not just about finding somewhere unspoiled, but also a chance to get your holiday for a lot less than it will cost when the destination becomes mainstream. 2014 is going to see some up-and-coming destinations – such as Oman in the Middle East or Manila, the capital of the Philippines – but places like New Orleans and Melbourne are also worth keeping an eye on. They all have what it takes to become amongst the top destinations of 2014, not to mention real holiday bargains too.
