Currency
South Africa’s currency is the Rand, referred to as either the R, or the ZAR. Notes come in denominations from 10 to 200.
Climate
Cape Town enjoys a Mediterranean climate, with well defined seasons. Summer in South Africa runs from December to March or April. Days are usually very hot, but with low humidity. The winter months of June and July are rather wet, with cool nights, and temperatures as low as 6 or 7°C. October and November are pleasant months, with temperatures in the low 20s Centigrade, fresh, clean air, and long, mild evenings.
