Phuket - Food & Drink

Phuket offers a huge choice of cuisine, probably the best choice outside Bangkok. The island is very multi-cultural in its population but Thai cuisine remains the favourite.

Some of the typical dishes include Kao Tam (boiled rice served with a choice of meat, and occasionally an egg), Dim Sum (Chinese tapas), Kanom Jeen (a common dish in Thailand - soft rice noodles served with a choice of curries and lots of vegetables), Kao Niow (a recommended dish - sticky rice with barbecued chicken). There are too many to list, the choice is endless, just try a variety of the different meals inspired by Thai, Chinese and Indian cuisine.

Some good restaurants to try can be found on the West Coast of Phuket, these have menus in English. You may often find menus with photos to make everything that bit easier!
