Toronto - Further Afield
Black Creek Pioneer Village, Murray Ross Parkway
A stalwart of the Ontario tourism route, this faithfully reconstructed village offers a Truman Show-like immersion in a virtual reality world. The sprawling village is a recreation of life in 19th-century Ontario and consists of over forty historic 19th century buildings, populated by a permanent cast of residents.
Canada's Wonderland is a thrilling theme park featuring over 200 attractions, 65 white knuckle rides (including the mighty new ‘Behemoth’) and family shows and events, ensuring that every member of the family has a fun filled day out. Resident stars, Snoopy and Charlie Brown loom large, and Planet Snoopy is the park’s latest addition, aimed at Wonderland’s smallest visitors. Great fun.
About a 90 minute drive south, Niagara is where Torontonians come to enjoy a little slice of Vegas. The resort town is, admittedly, a little tacky, but it does have one huge appeal even the strip malls, sideshows and amusement arcades can’t diminish: the roaring spectacle of the Niagara Falls. Take a trip on the Maid of the Mist (and get a good soaking) or whizz up the Konica Minolta Tower for jaw-dropping panoramic views.
