Family Holiday Inspiration - Water Parks
One of the most exciting parts of a family holiday is the prospect of a week or two in the sun, enjoying a summer filled with warm days and balmy evenings. However, parents often find that children can become ill if they’re in a country where they’re not used to the heat – which is why frequent dips into a pool or the sea is a good idea. Even better is to plan a holiday to a destination where a water park is nearby – making sure that the kids will have great fun and stay cool at the same time. Take a look at some of our favourite water parks around the world!

Orlando Water Parks
Home to a number of theme parks and other attractions kids love, Florida is a family holiday wonderland. It’s also a great place for a family holiday – whilst summers are notoriously hot, there’s a choice of four water parks to cool off at.
Wet’n’Wild – a large family-friendly water park, Wet’n’Wild is centrally located and offers a range of slides and rides. The park has a number of multiple-person rides where the whole family can take a slide together, as well as a lazy river – a great place for parents to relax for a few moments while the kids explore! The rides include high adrenaline drops and fast corners for the thrill seekers – as well as bouncy play areas and mini-rides for little ones.
Discovery Cove – not so much a water park as a marine centre where the whole family can swim with exotic fish, big sharks and even dolphins, Discovery Cove is a great place for kids to learn about their favourite sea life creatures. With pretty beaches, highly trained staff and signature experiences to plan, this is a highlight of a family holiday to Orlando.
Disney Water Parks
Typhoon Lagoon – the first of two Disney water parks, the myth says Typhoon Lagoon is the result of an epic storm which turned an exotic island into a watery paradise. There are a number of waterslides, thrilling rides and relaxing play areas for the kids – all perfectly themed around surfboards, ships and fun! There’s even a water rollercoaster which up to three people can ride at once!
Blizzard Beach – another Disney water park, Blizzard Beach is themed around a ski-slope where all the snow has melted! With a functioning ski-lift, some of the world’s biggest water slides and a number of racer rides, this is a great place for the older children, who can cool off and enjoy the high-octane thrills.
