Hold baggage

The weight of baggage being held in the hold differs depending on both your journey and the cabin class that you’re in.

For those travelling on domestic flights the combined weight of your baggage cannot exceed 30kg in Royal Silk Class and 20kg in Economy.

Those travelling within International sectors in TC2 (Europe, Africa and the Middle East) and TC3 (Asia, Australia and New Zealand), are allowed a 40kg limit in Royal First Class, 30kg in Royal Silk Class and Premium Economy and 20kg in Economy.

If you’re travelling to areas in Canada and the USA, you’re allowed two bags in all classes, with limits of 32kg each in Royal First and Royal Silk Class, and 23kg each in Economy. The total dimension limits for these bags are 158cm.

A child aged 2 – 12 years is entitled to the same luggage allowance as an adult passenger. Infants not occupying a seat are entitled to 10kg of luggage in TC2 and TC3 sectors, and one bag weighing no more than 23kg, with dimensions totalling 115cm, when heading to Canada or the USA.

Sports and musical equipment

Passengers are allowed one bike each to be included in their allowance, but a charge may incur should it exceed their allowance limit. The same applies to golfing equipment, which can contain a maximum of 14 golf clubs, 12 golf balls and a pair of golf shoes.

Bowling, fishing, snow and water skiing and scuba diving equipment is allowed, but must be packed within the passenger’s hold luggage. Therefore it is included in the normal baggage allowance limit.

Surfboard and windsurf equipment is not allowed, unless passengers are travelling to or from Australia or New Zealand. In this instance the equipment can be included within the baggage allowance.

Passengers are allowed to bring one portable musical instrument with them, as long as it does not exceed 100cm, and will be included in the passenger’s regular baggage allowance.
