Holidays in Vietnam

For some top drawer travelling, take a look at Vietnam holidays and seriously consider getting yourself over to the far side of Southeast Asia.

Ho Chi Minh City in the south is an energetic, bustling and hectic city, which may appear daunting at first, but will reward you through its sheer lust for life. A place full of variety, from accommodation to dining experiences, it can be an excellent place to get to grips with exploring the country.

Check out the century-old Jade Emperor Pagoda, built in honour of the supreme Taoist god, the King of Heaven, while the Khanh Van Nam Vien Pagoda is said to be the only pure Taoist temple in Vietnam. Educate yourself on some of the horrors of the country’s past at the War Remnants Museum, a testament to the barbarity of war.

Get away from the city and onto Vietnam’s largest island, Phu Quoc, the interior of which is densely packed with tropical jungle, while pristine beaches glide enticingly around the edges. Long Beach plays home to plenty of resorts, from where you can borrow a kayak for a leisurely paddle or dive the beautiful reefs.

Up in the north in the vicinity of atmospheric capital Hanoi is Halong Bay, an absolute must for any traveller to Vietnam. The translation of its name, ‘where the dragon descends into the sea’, should be enough to get you excited, and the incredible sight of over 2000 limestone islands bursting up out of the water, is not to be missed. Take an overnight boat trip to really immerse yourself in the atmosphere of this special place.
