Ah, beach days

A visit to Fort Myers without heading to the beach is like missing the cherry on top of a sundae. With all that velvety sand and crystal-clear water, Fort Myers Beach is bang on target for taking a dip, topping up your tan, and shaking off those sandcastle skills. For a quieter retreat, sneak off to Sanibel Island or Captiva Island.

Splish-splashing about

Fort Myers ain't just about sunbathing on pristine beaches, you know (but there's a lot of that too). It also happens to be a playground for water enthusiasts, full of calm turquoise waters, sneaky hidden mangrove tunnels, and mega vibrant coral reefs.

Don’t miss:

KayakingGlide through the mega calm waters of Estero Bay or explore the intricate mangroves at 'Ding' Darling National Wildlife Refuge in Sanibel.

PaddleboardingStand tall (if you can) on a paddleboard and cruise gently across the glassy waters over at Lovers Key State Park or Bowman's Beach for a seriously serene experience.

You can always go Downtown

If all that wasn't enough, Downtown Fort Myers is where history meets hipster, where art galleries burst with colour and live music spills from harbourside bars. Our kinda scene!

Don't miss:

History - Edison and Ford Winter Estates are two adjacent properties where you can wander over 20 acres of botanical garden.

Learning – IMAG History & Science Center is for the inner scientists amongst you, whilst the Sidney & Berne Davis Art Center is for the artsy types.

Dining

They're serious about seafood here, and outdoor dining in those balmy breezes comes as standard. Craft beers, artisanal food, even some classic British fare!

Don't miss:

Flippers on the Bay - Open air and with a mega view of Estero Bay, think Florida food with a Cali twist.

Old Captiva House - This top-island destination is known for its classic styling, contemporary design and incredible food. Pencil this one in for sunset.
