Los Angeles Holidays
The City of the Angels, Los Angeles, has everything you could need from a summer holiday.
It is home to most of today’s biggest stars (and quite a few of tomorrow’s), but there is more to do in LA than simply spot celebs. From the famous theatres – such as Grauman’s Chinese Theatre with the Walk of Fame out in front – to taking a trek in the hills up to the famous sign and lots more in between, everyone will find what they are looking for here.

More About Los Angeles
The movies are big business in Los Angeles and there is a little piece of it for everyone. For those interested in the history of the silver screen there is the Hollywood museum which is dedicated to preserving the industry’s history whilst those looking for a little more fun can head to Universal Studios (where you can take a tour which includes seeing some special effects, such as being attacked by the shark from Jaws). If you want to meet Mickey and Co. then Disneyland is also just outside the city.
Hollywood is the home of entertainment and never is this more obvious than in the summer. During the summer months there are regular screenings of classic films in the Hollywood Forever Cemetery, as well as quite a few cinemas about town. There is also plenty of music about with almost every community in the city hosting some sort of event – many of which are free. From concerts with the Hollywood Philharmonic at the Walt Disney Concert Hall (which boasts some of the best acoustics in the world) and the Hollywood Bowl to music and dance evenings at the Santa Monica Pier or one of thirteen different festivals at Long Beach, summer is the time for music in LA. The bars and clubs also get in on the action, hosting evenings from big name DJs down to local emerging bands and artists.
Summer Attractions in LA
Being home to the stars Los Angeles is also home to the shops, so if you like to indulge in a little retail therapy LA will not disappoint you. LA has everything from big name designer stores down to the trendiest of little boutiques, so whatever you’re after the shops here cater for your every need. After downtown shopping there are also loads of bars and restaurants where you can rest shopping-weary feet, or take shelter from the midday sun.
Summer is the right time to hit California’s Pacific coast beaches, places like Venice Beach are very popular with people taking the opportunity to cool down with a dip in the sea, or use the ocean’s waves to go surfing. The beaches are also home to lots of little beach bars and cafes, making it an excellent place to spend a day or two (or more!).
