A taxi is another option if you get here in the early hours of the morning – expect to pay something in the region of 62.50 AED to get to the Downtown area.

Airport Information

Flying from Manchester Airport
There are three passenger terminals at Manchester Airport. Emirates flights operate from Terminal 1, so if you’re flying direct to Dubai you’ll be flying from there. Etihad flights set off from the same terminal. You can walk between each terminal easily – there’s a skylink connecting Terminals 1 and 2, which are about a 15-minute walk away from each other. There’s a covered walkway between Terminals 1 and 3, which are only five minutes apart. In terms of facilities, there are plenty of shops in Terminal 1 as well as the Escape Lounge, which you can pre-book. There are Travelex UK currency exchange services in all three airport terminals.

Landing in Dubai International Airport
All international airlines arrive into Terminal 1 at Dubai International Airport except Emirates, Qantas and flydubai, which arrive into Emirates Terminal 3. If you need to get between terminals, there’s a free 24-hour shuttle bus service between Terminals 1, 2 and 3, and the Metro runs between Terminals 1 and 3. There are Duty Free shops in all three terminals, in both departures and arrivals, and they’re open 24/7. There are plenty of ATMs, too, and the currency is the United Arab Emirates dirham, or AED. As for onward travel, the Metro’s Red Line leaves from terminals 1 and 3 straight into Downtown Dubai – there are trains every four minutes in peak time.
