What does ATOL offer?
Financial protection and the means to return home for flight inclusive holidays if the company you book with fails.
How does ATOL differ from ABTA?
Some ABTA members offer additional financial protection for non-ATOL products. ABTA members are governed by ABTA’s Code of Conduct, under which you will receive high service standards before, during and after booking your holiday.
Did you know?
If you book a flight & hotel/car hire separately, but through the same company and within 24 hours of each other, you are ATOL protected - this is known as a Flight-plus holiday.

Flights to Barbados

Despite such an exotic and seemingly far flung location, direct flights to Barbados from the UK take less than nine hours. It may be the case that a connecting flight can lessen the total price of your holiday, but flying directly may also be the most cost-effective way to reach this Caribbean oasis.

With a time difference only four hours behind GMT, you should arrive at Grantley Adams International Airport with more than a modicum of freshness intact. The airport is found on the south east coast of the island, eight miles from the capital Bridgetown.

As Barbados is only 21 miles in length and 14 miles wide, making your way to your hotel or resort shouldn't take too long. The journey from the airport to Speightstown in the North West takes around 45 minutes, while the northernmost tip of the island is around an hour away from the airport.

The airport offers a number of options to help you reach your final destination, including an authorised airport taxi service that is recognised by yellow stickers on the sides of vehicles. Places on the northern coast should cost around £25 by taxi, and you should make sure you receive a trip form from the taxi dispatch desk before embarking on your journey.

The airport offers three authorised car hire companies, while it’s possible to catch a public bus from the highway outside the airport, with an hourly service to Bridgetown proving an inexpensive way to travel. Perhaps the most convenient way to organise your onward journey from the airport is to arrange a shuttle with your accommodation, with plenty of hotels offering this service as part of your package.
