How to get to London City Airport

By car

You can drive to London City Airport via the A112 and A1020.
Dropping off or picking up? Use the terminal building's postcode: E16 2PX
Heading to the car park? Use the car park's postcode: E16 2PB

By train

London City Airport is served by the Docklands Light Railway (DLR), which then offers fast connections to the London Underground, London Overground and Elizabeth Line. When heading to the airport from the city, the closest underground station is Canning Town - take the DLR from here straight to the airport. The journey should only take 15 to 20 minutes. Easy peasy.

By taxi

You won't be short on rides to the airport, with over 400 taxi companies serving London City Airport and its surrounding areas. It should set you back about £20 if you go with this option. There's always companies like Uber too, which might offer a cheaper rate depending on the time of day and local traffic.
Can you park at London City Airport?

Yep! London City Airport's car park is conveniently located just a stone's throw from the airport itself, so there's none of this waiting around for shuttle buses. Ahhhh, the beauty of smaller airports. Plus, if you're mega organised, you can book your spot up to a year in advance and save on the cost.
Is it free to drop off passengers?

Yes, but make it snappy! You'll be slapped with a fine if you hang around or leave your vehicle for any reason, so everyone out - on the double!

Blue Badge holders do get 30 minutes' free parking in the Pick Up area a little further along, though.
Can I collect passengers?

You can indeedy, from the dedicated Pick Up point. Here you can stay for up to 20 minutes, max - so make sure the flight's landed on time before you set off.
Is there a smoking area?

You’ll only be able to light up outside the arrivals area, before passing through security. After that, it’s a fully smoking-free zone, and yes, that includes e-cigarettes and vapes!
How long do I need to be at London City Airport before my flight?

You'll need to check in at London City Airport at least 2 hours before your flight. Things move pretty speedy here, so they don't recommend you arrive any earlier than that. It can vary by airline, though, so check your ticket details. Also note that London City Airport is not open 24/7, so you won't be able to stay in the airport overnight - we've popped some hotels below that you can make use of if needed.

You've got a Boots to replace any toiletries you may have forgotten (we're looking at you, toothpaste) a WH Smith for that book you won't read (don't deny it), and InMotion for all the travel tech you need, but mostly for the adaptors you forgot.

There's Aelia Duty Free too - you can even pre-order online to collect before your flight, and get an extra 10% off! If you need to exchange currency, you can do that aswell.

Eating

There's a Caffe Nero here, as well as a Pret if you want a fancier sandwich. Soul & Grain has great, fresh food to go, and Juniper & Co is where you need to head for that pre-flight cocktail (mandatory, don't you know?)
Other facilities

Being a small airport, there's not tons on offer at London City Airport, but we reckon that's part of its charm.
