Al Qasr Madinat Jumeirah, Dubai - Destination Info
The Metropolitan’s location makes it perfect for taking in so much of what Dubai has to offer. Shopping is definitely high on any visitor’s hit list. Al Ghurair and many smaller shopping malls are all located within walking distance. You might want to take in some of Dubai’s legendary trading history too. Just ten minutes’ walk from the hotel you can continue a stroll along the dhow harbour on Dubai Creek. This is a fascinating opportunity to watch these ancient ocean-going craft load their cargo for transportation to Iran, India and Pakistan. Just don't forget your camera.

A stroll in old, historic Dubai is an adventure into an exotic world of spices, local arts and crafts. Take an Abra, a traditional wooden ferry- boat, across the Creek to Dubai's famous souks, and the bustling Meena Bazaar. Get ready to haggle for the best prices. It’s expected.
With such sunny weather, golfers love Dubai’s courses, like the Emirates, Creek and Jebel Ali. The nearest to the Metropolitan is the Creek (10 minutes by taxi).
With all that sun, the beaches are an obvious attraction too, all white sand, clear waters and perfectly safe for the whole family. Of course, adventurous types might want to scuba beneath the surface or get their adrenalin rush on water skis, a wind surfer or a zooming jet ski. The fun and games of the slides and rides of the Wild Wadi Water Park are a short drive from the hotel.
No visit to Dubai is complete without a visit to gasp at what has been called the eighth wonder of the world, the Palm Jumeirah. This astonishing development of islands in the shape of a palm tree truly has to be seen to be believed.
