When is the Cheapest Time to Fly to Dubrovnik?

The best time to travel to Dubrovnik is in autumn, during the months of September and October when the peak season has just ended. Summer is the busiest and hottest time of the year.

When is the Best Time to Book your Flight to Dubrovnik?

Rates on return flights rise as the date of travel approaches, though deals on last-minute flights with Netflights can also help you save money. Consider the ideal time for activities when conducting your search. Hiking and cycling are good in spring and autumn, while water sports activities are better in warmer seasons like summer and spring.

Flying to Dubrovnik Airport (DBV)

Dubrovnik Airport (DBV) is the international airport for Dubrovnik and is located about 15.5 km from the city centre. It is the third busiest airport in Croatia and a major destination for cheap flights during the summer holidays.
Begin your search for cheap flights to Dubrovnik by typing in your departing city/airport and entering ‘DBV’ as your destination. Compare rates across popular airlines that travel here, such as Austrian Airlines, British Airways, Croatia Airlines, Lufthansa, Swiss Airlines and Turkish Airlines. Search by month to find the cheapest days of travel. London’s Gatwick Airport is the only airport to service direct flights to DBV. Return flights that depart from airports such as Manchester Airport and Edinburgh Airport will require at least one stopover in cities like Brussels, Frankfurt and Zurich.

On Arrival and Getting Around the Airport

Dubrovnik Airport has three terminals: A, B and C. Terminal A is no longer in use as terminal C, the newest addition to open in 2017, now serves as its replacement. Terminal C handles check-in, commercial space, security, a departure lounge and premium lounge as well as restaurants. Two of its 16 gates are reserved for domestic flights. Terminal B, which is connected to Terminal C, is for incoming Dubrovnik flights. The airport boasts other amenities such as a lost and found facility, a tour/travel agency, duty-free shop, newsstand, bureau de change, bank and café.

Getting to the City from Dubrovnik Airport

Dubrovnik Airport offers several methods of transport to reach the city centre in a short amount of time. These include public transport, taxis and car hires. Both buses and shuttle services are located in the bus terminal just outside of Terminal B. Inside Terminal B there is a taxi stand which offers services and information. Taxis are available in the taxi rank outside of Terminal C. Alternatively, you can use a ride sharing app to pick you up. If you prefer to travel by car, hire services can be found outside by the bus terminal and car park.

Why visit Dubrovnik?

Although small, Dubrovnik is a stunning coastal city with orange rooftops and beige stone buildings which contrast the deep blue of the Adriatic Sea. Its historical feel and starring role in the popular television programme Game of Thrones is what draws visitors. The first thing you’ll notice is the old medieval wall, which surrounds the entire city. Walk along the narrow cobblestone streets to the beloved Stradun. Here you will find shops, galleries, cafes and restaurants. At the end of this main street is the town square with its cathedral, bell tower and Church of St Blaise’s – all prime examples of baroque and medieval architecture.
View the city from a different perspective with its cable cars that descend the green Mount Srđ. Alternatively, you can hike the mountainside and take in the scenery along the way. The Maritime Museum and War Photo Limited, among other museums, will teach you more about the city. With plenty more to see and do, it’s never too late to book flights to Dubrovnik as part of your 2024 / 2025 experience.
