Getting to the city from Singapore Changi Airport
Singapore Changi Airport has trains, public buses, taxis and limousines available for travellers to take into the city. The train runs from 5:30 am until 11:20 pm approximately. The train from the airport stop at Tanah Merah station. Once there, travellers can change trains to go directly to the city. Public buses 36 and 36A operate from 6 am until midnight. They cost around SG$2.50 (just over £1) for an hour ride into the city. Taxis take less time, only about 30 minutes or so, but cost a lot more. A typical taxi ride costs between SG$20 and SG$40 (£11 to £22). A large taxi with seven seats costs SG$60 (£33). In addition, there is a SG$5 (less than £3) surcharge between 5 pm and midnight and on Fridays to Sundays; for the rest of the week, the surcharge is SG$3 (less than £2). Limousines start at SG$55 (£30).
