Matatu

Matatus are privately run minibuses which are ideal for 14 or 25 passengers. The minibuses operate over short and medium distance transferring tourists to and from airports and hotels. Government legislation and policing of the Matatu minibuses has lead to all minibuses being fitted with seat beats. All tourists travelling with a Matatu must ensure they wear their seatbelts at all times to avoid a trip to the police station. Many hotels offer their own minibus transfers, so check with your hotel before you travel.
